Culture change success stories and anecdotes are powerful ways to share results about the power of healthy culture. Hear this CIO share what life was like pre-LifeWork Systems and post-LifeWork Systems.
Judy: What I hear about managers; if the managers are watching the employees prepping for these and they’re blown away by how much commitment they have and that’s what you want you want your employees helping one another to manage relationships and and they all have a common language. She had one person on her team with it was a bit of a rebel and we were meeting and I was talking to him and I said now you know you’re in other-directed right now? And I know you guys don’t know what that means, but even the person who was so rebellious, he’s like, “Well I do know I’m in in other-directed” you know, so they can’t not know what they now know. And sometimes they’ll find themselves even saying, “Oh I’m being in the goal of something” and we have a common language it makes it a lot easier.
CIO Erin: Yeah we do and you know we talk about ROI and how do you know so you know I’m not seeing patients at the central business office, productivity you know we have these massive projects of you know changing out the server farm and whatnot, so it’s hard for me to put you know some things don’t have clear dollars and cents but I was putting out a fire every day in the past. And we couldn’t get our head above water to be proactive on anything. The fires are few and far between and they’re already working on them. And so we’re able to hit project deadlines. It’s not the “Well we were supposed to meet this but then this issue came up.” We’re hitting our targets and we’re much more productive in that fashion. And a quick anecdote for me personally; I can say so I’ve had the blessing in my life to take two maternity leaves and one was pre-LifeWorks, and one was post bringing in LifeWorks and I will tell you the coming back after my second maternity leave was much easier than coming back after the first one, without having this responsibility based model. So just a little personal anecdote of how I really felt.
