When your people say, “I love coming to work!” you know you’re on to something essential. Hear this business owner share his experience with workplace culture.
Owner Jay: And I will tell you that I can remember having almost a paradigm shift in my brain as she began to speak and she’s dealing with negativity. I had some of that going on in my life and my company, some things that I had to deal with so this really caught on with me very quickly. So I literally can remember the room that I was in. I remember the seat that I was in, and I remember the people that I was sitting beside. It was such a profound time for me and I’ve just been literally her disciple ever since because I feel like it’s made such an impact on me and with the folks that I work for. So a lot of things that she’s taught me I’ve actually used in my company. I had a guy come up to me about a month ago. He’s been with me for 26 years and after that kind of time, you’ll have people that’ll kind of ebb and flow and they’ll feel good about things, and they don’t feel good about things. He came up to me about a month ago and he said, “Jay” he said, “I’ve been with you a long time” and he said “I want to end my career here.” He said, “Just in the last few months, the culture here has gotten so much better. I love coming to work!”
