School reform in elementary and middle schools taught the, teachers and parents skills that created teamwork and positive behavior.
Student 1: I like to talk and try to solve the problems, to try to help the people out.
Student 2: We get to speak about our problems and our feelings that we are having in the classroom, because we used to call people names all the time, but we don’t no more because we see it hurts people’s feelings. We get to show the teacher how she is, and she shows us how we are.
Student 3: We don’t fight as much anymore because we let it out during our discussions, and also we have the same opinions, so we kind of talk a little bit more about our opinions.
Student 4 Because people used to call me names all the time and now that we’ve been having these meetings, they’ve stopped calling me names.
