Author: And I said, “What is it that you really enjoy doing?” and he said, “Well you know I write poetry.” He’s very quiet and I said, “Well do you have anything you could share?” Did he not only have one to share; he had notebooks with him to share. I mean I still get the chills when I talk about this because what an incredible young man. He shared those poems with me and I encouraged him to keep going, and I just became a published author in October, so I was kind of telling him about this experience. And so at the end I asked him, I said, “So do you have any questions?” and he said. “Yes, would you help me publish my poetry?”

Student Teacher: Well, I was fortunate enough to do the appreciative inquiry about a month ago and I really enjoyed it a lot. I was there for about three hours and got to speak with four girls. And I work with middle schoolers daily as a teacher’s assistant, and with the appreciative inquiry, I really enjoyed being able to talk to these middle school high school age girls on a personal level.

Teacher: The support teachers that have come and observed my class and offered constructive criticism have been fantastic. I wish I could have in my class every day because I know I would be shaped quicker. But they have been very positive, but also they challenge you, and they really probe and ask you really deep questions, and make you think and don’t just leave it if they think they’re somewhat satisfied. They want to be satisfied that you really get it.

Teacher 2: The trainers were very very good at working with us. They just put hours and hours into our training and definitely made us really understand how we were supposed to utilize the program.
